MACAULAY SALMON HATCHERY

Alaska has five species of Pacific salmon that are a large part of the state's economy. So to preserve this gold mine, many hatcheries have been set up in order to perpetuate the species. The technique is simple. Capture male and female salmon, artificially hatch their eggs, release the fry and wait for them to return to the artificial stream created for them with extra pounds. In summer, it is amazing to see thousands of salmon jumping into the mouth of the wolf.
