TOKYO STOCK EXCHANGE
Public building / Town hall

A symbol of Japan's economic power, the Tokyo Stock Exchange is one of Asia's leading stock exchanges. First opened in 1878, it's housed inside a large modern building, but the main floor, encased in a glass cylinder inside, is quite small. There's no question of hundreds of people in ties shouting at each other to buy and sell shares. Computers have replaced them. The tour is fairly straightforward, with explanations (in English) on the walls and a few interactive games.
