Closely associated with the young and pop fashion of Takeshita Street and its surroundings, the Laforet shopping mall was in the 1980s and 1990s an active heart of this style of dress where fashion shows targeting the young clientele of Takeshita Street were organized. Laforet remains a staple of Harajuku. Brands like Vivienne Westwood or Anna Sui are well established there. Lolita dresses, kawaii boutiques and grunge outfits are the main features. A Laforet museum on the top floor also offers temporary exhibitions.
