This gateway to the west of Cherchell is a jewel of Algerian architecture and civilization.

Located to the west of the city, at the end of Abdelhak Street (formerly Caesarea), the Tenes Gate (or Western Gate) is an architectural gem and an important part of the history of Algerian civilization and, by extension, of the North African population as a whole. An interesting stop during your visit to the region. Unfortunately, the gate is not very well maintained and is located in the middle of a busy traffic area comparable to some parts of Paris. We recommend caution during your visit.
