Basilica in Tipasa housing a small chapel in homage to Salsa, who was martyred in the early days of Christianity.
Behind the Muslim cemetery are the remains of the eastern necropolis, whose tombs encircle the basilica, built over the tomb of the martyr. The small chapel, erected in the fourth century in memory of the young Salsa, martyred in the early days of Christianity, later became an important religious building. A mosaic with an inscription attests that the body of Salsa was laid under the altar. Excavations around it have brought to light the necropolis and a chapel dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul.
