In a cosy little place decorated with vintage objects, owner David and his team welcome you with open arms to enjoy quality burgers, hand-crafted using local produce. The buns are home-baked, the meat comes from Puidoux, the vegetables from Mont-sur-Lausanne. Sauces are made in-house by the cooks. Desserts (muffins, brownies, cookies) are also homemade. Some fifteen beers are available. The small terrace is pleasant in summer.

A page of history embodied by this "pocket handkerchief" bistro, which opened its doors in 1900. In a pretty setting with wood-panelled walls adorned with paintings, the menu features large salads with poetic names. The vegetables are bought in the morning at the market. Although the restaurant offers mainly vegetarian dishes, there are also other options, such as pizzas and dishes influenced by world cuisine. It's also the ideal place to enjoy a cup of tea or a homemade fruit/vegetable juice. Reservations recommended.

What's its speciality? As in the same chain in Geneva, Nyon and Sion: hearty burgers. There's a wide range of original choices. Vegetarians will be delighted with the dedicated vegetarian version. The atmosphere in the dining room is pleasant, with attractive decor and a small terrace. Don't forget to make reservations, as the restaurant is often fully booked. The establishment is a victim of its own success: without a reservation, you'll have to queue to enjoy these excellent burgers. Good value for money, good service, recommended place.

Argentinian restaurant, created in 1979, which only offers meat (from Argentina), which is obviously relatively expensive in Switzerland. Latin America is on your plate with the smell of wood-fired grilling right from the open kitchen. The waiters bring you the meat on large skewers and quantity rhymes with quality. The menu also includes a salad, polenta and French fries at will. We come here with friends, and sometimes even to meet Yannick Noah. Terrace on the cobblestones in the summer.

An invitation to travel by rail before its time... The establishment is housed in the former lounge formerly reserved for the first classes, and takes us back in time to 1916. The setting is perfect, and everything has been refurbished: wood panelling, stained glass windows, canvases depicting the eternal Matterhorn and typical Swiss landscapes. Vegetarians and vegans will find what they're looking for, with a choice of dishes rivalling in creativity. The buffet is rich, very rich, offering "world cuisine" and traditional Swiss dishes. Simply excellent.

This natural and casual fast-food restaurant, simply decorated with light wood, serves authentic 100% Swiss burgers. The list is long: beef, chicken, vegetarian, children's version, Camembert, Indian, Mexican or Japanese flavour... all accompanied by good fries. The only downside is that you still have to be patient to find a place at rush hour. But that's the price of success! In any case, the brand also has other premises, at 17 rue Cheneau-De-Bourg and even on the EPFL campus, at the arcades.
