Formerly the Hotel du Théâtre, the Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind is now located in this charming building. As the name suggests, the inspiration for this hotel is Swiss chocolate, from the decor to the chocolate fountain that greets guests at the reception. The rooms are bright and some have a wonderful view of the Polybahn, the famous red funicular, and the aptly named skyline with its panoramic view of Zurich's skyline.

What a lovely establishment! In this well-known café-bar in Zurich-West, five rooms are available for overnight stays. In this small guesthouse, rooms for one or two people are decorated simply but tastefully by Zurich designers. The bathroom is shared with the other guests. A great place to stay if you're on a budget and want to experience the area from the inside. We can't recommend the café bar highly enough for breakfast or an evening sipping a beer.

The rooms in this lakeside youth hostel are well kept and the building, which dates from the 1960s, was named Historic Hotel of the Year 2008 by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). The welcome here is very pleasant and the staff are helpful. The breakfast buffet is generous and the hotel also offers excellent lunches. Good to know: public transport tickets can be purchased at the reception.
