Today, the Becquet Harbour is a delight for yachtsmen.
Small, medium, large buildings, it was from the tiny port of Le Becquet that the stones for the construction of the largest artificial harbour ever built: the harbour of Cherbourg. So much for the history of a place built between 1783 and 1785, always by modest means but in order to resist the wrath of the elements: the dike has already been the subject of many repairs, the pier is made of dry stones, embankment trimmed with rubble laid vertically dry. The harbour is now a pleasure for yachtsmen.
