Hélène is a French woman who fell in love with Bukhara. A few years ago, she took the plunge and bought a house in a quiet alley in the old town. Each room is named after a historical figure linked to Uzbekistan (Avicenna, Alexander the Great, etc.) and combines good taste, fantasy and practicality. Breakfasts are gargantuan: French pancakes, fried eggs and homemade rice pudding alternate on the menu.
