WESELE

Krakow's royal history, old town and folklore blend together to create the city's unique atmosphere. In the same way, the unique atmosphere of Wesele is created, through its incredible flavors, noble decor and ideal location.
The first associations aroused by 'Wesele' are connected with the song Wyspiański. These rooms are decorated in honor of the Cracovian wedding tradition. Garlands of 'zazdrostki' hanging from the windows, lace and red bows, necklaces of red pearls, as well as peacock feathers decorate the whole place, inciting participation in its festive atmosphere.
Tènement 'Sous la Carpe Doré' was built in the 14th century. In the 15th century, a second floor was added, and so on down the centuries. Originally belonging to families of merchants and craftsmen, Tommaso Dolabella lived here in the first half of the 17th century. He was a painter and the author of many works that can be found today in Krakow's churches and monasteries.
In the 1870s, Jacek Matusiński completely renovated the building, adding a new facade with classical motifs.
The baroque stove, which survived all its eras, was sent to the national museum, where frescoes by John Kopff, scenes of Krakow dating from 1830, remain.
The building's emblem, the Golden Carp, was moved to the courtyard of a neighboring building before the world wars.
