The seaside resort of Sopot is the jewel of the Polish Baltic coast, born from a simple fishing village at the end of the 20th century. The town is centered on a ring road that takes you back to the 1920s, with a wide avenue surrounded by villas, where all the shops and restaurants are concentrated. At one time, the town was renowned for its spa treatments. Today, it's the seafront that attracts visitors by the thousands. To understand them, you only have to stand on the long wooden jetty (500 m) and watch the sun set over the sea of oil that stretches as far as the eye can see, while swans frolic below.
