Located at 1 010 m above sea level, San Ignacio has many tourist attractions, including quebradas (gorges or ravines). The Peñón de Cayaguanca, 6 km north, is 1 622 m above sea level; You can see toucans or the surprising fourmilier. The temperate climate of the region allows the cultivation of vegetables and fruits (strawberries, blackberries, lettuce…) in Las Pilas, the unusual El Salvador. 11 km from the city, El Pital is the highest mountain in the country, at 2 730 m altitude (bird watching, mountain biking). The culture of indigo was very widespread once; today, you can visit some of the colonial workshops in the vicinity. It mainly produces pine wood objects, which decorate floral motifs. Eco-tourism and tourism are therefore options not to be overlooked around San Ignacio. The patron saint San Ignacio de Loyola is celebrated from 23 to 31 July.
