The Street of the Booksellers, a little-known history and yet surprising in more than one way in Blainville-sur-Mer.
It is a little-known story, and yet surprising in more ways than one! In the middle of the 19th century, without really knowing why, except that they did not want to work as fishermen in the open sea, several dozen Blainvillais went to the capital to open bookshops on the quays of the capital, competing with the booksellers. If not all of them were successful, the luckiest ones made a fortune, as shown by the five small castles that are located there: small architectural wonders.

La Rue des Libraires 50560 Blainville-Sur-Mer
La Rue du Bas appelée Rue des Libraires part du centre ville de Blainville-Sur-Mer. Un panneau explique l'origine du nom et les découvertes à faire dans cette rue. Celle-ci permet d'admirer de l'extérieur de très belles demeures, dont certaines encore habitées de nos jours. Une jolie promenade et un retour au temps de ces magnifiques demeures !
