Located in the communes of Sarraméa, Farino and Moindou, the Grandes Fougères Park was inaugurated in 2008 to protect an exceptional natural environment. A network of hiking trails has been developed to allow visitors to survey 4,500 hectares of tropical rainforest. The flora and species present are mostly endemic (cagou, notou, crested parakeet...). Mountain bikers are welcome, but there is no bike rental company on site. Motorized vehicles and dogs are not allowed.

Opening time and information on GREAT FERNS PARK
Open every day from 7.30am to 5.30pm except Tuesday. Open public holidays except on December 25th and on January 1st. Last admission in the park at 3.30pm. Rates: 400 CFP by adult and 200 CFP per child. Guided hikes by reservation with Association Moinriméa (✆+687 44 31 84).

Alors ce parc est vraiment superbe ! nous avions prévu d'y passer 2 heures et nous y sommes reste 5 ! sans réellement s'en apercevoir... tout y est magnifique, les sentiers très bien balisés, l'accueil fournissant un plan pour bien orienter sa ballade...

De belles balades en foret sont au programmes pour petits et grands marcheurs, avec un peu de chances des rencontres avec des Kagou (animal emblématique de la Nouvelle-Calédonie)
