612 inhabitants (Udi Pwee en kanak). Petite's smaller commune, Farino is not the least interesting, far from it. Even if it is an exception (with Sarraméa) because it offers no access to the sea, the nature displays its most beautiful face here. His name would come from Farinole in Corsica, another island from which provinrent numbers of settlers from the region, came to cultivate coffee and raise cattle. Klee's author and storyteller Jean Mariotti is a descendant and born here in 1901.
