HTU PA YON PAGODA
The pagoda Htu Pa Yon was built in the fifteenth century by Narapatigyi (1443-1469), king of Ava. On the occasion of the hti ceremony, the king had built a temporary timber bridge between the two cities so that the inhabitants of Ava could attend the party. Consisting of three circular stories of niches, the pagoda presents an original structure. It was not spared by the earthquake of 1838 and restorations undertaken in 1849, on the initiative of a monk, and funded by the community of believers were never completed.
