SAT TAW YAR PAGODA

The Sat Taw Yar Pagoda is a monument in its own right. All dressed in white, around this golden point, dozens of vaulted doors encircle the central interior. The pagoda shelters in a vaulted chamber a footprint brought back to Mingun by Bodawpaya, when the reliquary room of the large pagoda was sealed. The temple was completed in 1811 and remains today one of the architectural masterpieces of the region, especially if one thinks, looking at it, to put the construction in its context, with the means of the 19th century.
