SHWEBON YADANA MINGALA PALACE

In the centre of the village, next to the municipal market which dates from the 18th century, the Shebon Yadana mingala palace is not particularly impressive and has been largely rebuilt, but it is after all a very good example of Upper Burmese architecture. The central base, a large square room, is topped by a stepped pointed roof that ends with a golden point towards the sky. It was built by King Alaungphaya U Aung Zeya in 1753.
