The hill and the 1,700 steps to climb are well worth a visit, with crowds of tourists arriving for the sunset. The view over the Mandalay Valley and the palace is breathtaking. The renovation of the terrace was completed in 1995, leaving a platform at the top of the sacred hill tiled with a surprising patchwork of yellow earthenware, flowers and mirrors. Our advice, come down just after sunset, when the tourists are still on the terrace, to enjoy the temples built along the steps.

Nous avons monté les 1720 marches et nous étions presque seuls . L'intérêt de cette montée est la vue . Vue sur Paya Kuthodan. En haut nous attend un imposant Bouddha debout. A noter que nous n'avons rien payer, c'était le matin.

Nous sommes allés à la pagode pour le coucher de soleil. Il y avait beaucoup de monde pour prendre l'ascenseur et nous avons tellement attendu que nous sommes arrivés trop tard...Beaucoup de touristes certes, mais beaucoup de birmans également.
La promenade autour de la pagode fut agréable.

J'ai choisi la solution rapide pour y accéder : grimper la colline en camionnette puis montée sur la terrasse en Escalator. Beau coup de touristes au coucher du soleil mais cela ne présente pas vraiment d'intérêt. Le paysage tout autour est sympa mais caché dans la brume, les couleurs du soleil couchant sont jolies sur les faïences des murs des temples. L'ambiance est agréable avec les jeunes bonzes qui viennent pour parler avec les touristes

Mouais...rien de bien exceptionnel. Manadalay étant hyper polluée, la vue n'est pas très Claire ni spectaculaire! La pagode dorée est comme toute les autres. Beaucoup de touristes à la recherche de la photo parfaite du coucher de soleil...
C'est une fois en haut que l'on sait que pour les touristes, il y a une entrée à 1000k.
