On the heights of Kalaw, you will reach a small monastery, responsible for the carillon which rings out every hour and resounds throughout Kalaw, particularly loud at 5am. It is called the Bamboo Buddha Pagoda because it is here that you will find a medium sized Buddha built entirely of bamboo. He too is covered with gold leaves, the difference is not so obvious except for the lightness. Nothing extraordinary, but if this is on our way, a visit is a must.
