Founded at the beginning of the last century by the Critchleys, a family of ecologically minded farmers, this small park in the heart of the Kafue Flats is in many ways similar to Lochinvar. For years, it was used exclusively by the military and a few politicians who came to hunt. Its acacia-lined floodplains are a bird's paradise and a favourite refuge for the Kafue lechwe kobs. The Department of National Parks and the WWF are working together to develop its infrastructure, but it is totally abandoned and these marshes are of no interest.
