The palace is the only remains of the former residence of the bishops of Avranches including Louis de Bourbon who rebuilt it in the 15th century. It was restored several times. You can see a vaulted room ribbed with warheads and used as a waiting hall and a granite staircase in an elegant tower. This is a real gem of Avranches heritage, worth a detour and making a visit there is a real pleasure.
