Located at the eastern end of the lake, Sinazongwe is the second largest town on the lake, about 200 km from Siavonga and the same distance from Livingstone. You can stop at the market on the way there. Built as an administrative town in the 1950s, and less developed in terms of tourism, Sinazongwe lives mainly from the kapenta fishing industry, the small fish imported from lakes Victoria and Tanganyika that makes the region's fortune. The city center is not located on the lake but on a hill. A place out of time where one does not often see European tourists passing by!
