THAM PHU KHIAW

The "Green Mountain Cave" is a place of pilgrimage for the islanders at the time of the Lao New Year. Inside, you can see many Buddha figures and some broken pottery. To the northwest of Muang Khong, 200 m from Wat Chom Thong, it is a 15-minute walk from the centre of Muang Khong. The trail is poorly maintained and quite steep. It is better to get a clear explanation of the path at the hotel or take a local guide (for a small fee).
