Located at 3 000 metres above sea level, Shahara was the safest haven of imams and the greatest concern of the Turkish occupants during their two occupations. From the beginning of the th century, the imam Sharaf Al-Din and his son Mutahar embarked on a fierce guerrilla attack on the Turks from this village. The imam Al-Qasim pursued the tactic and bouta them first out of Yemen in 1636. Imam Yahya Hamid Al-Din, as early as 1904, did the same to liberate Yemen from the second Turkish occupation. The battle of Shahara, shortly after 1905, ended with the victory of Imam Yahya and heavy losses on the Ottoman side. Since this battle, Shahara has been called «tomb of the Turks». During the civil war between 1962 and 1970, the Egyptian bombing was finally reason for this monarchist. The village, in which the Year-Nakhla Bab is located, consists of large stone houses with four or five floors. The layout of the facades of the facade, more or less saillie, draws a pattern of horizontal switchbacks. The openings of cross killers and oculis in alabaster are largely badigeonnées, giving the houses a ghostly look. Twenty-three open-air tanks and the status of «hijrah» have provided Shahara with fairly constant peace of mind. Its most remarkable monument is a suspension bridge between two mountain peaks, Al-Amer and Al-Faïsh, 1 200 metres above the vacuum. Built in the th century by Salah Al-Charentes, the bridge originally consisted of three superimposed arches, only the upper arch.
