This small raised village, 10 km south of Sana'a, is famous for its terraces. In spring, apricot and almond trees will soften the dryness of the surrounding mountains. Until the mid s, Hadda was still separated from Sana'a by the campaign. Intensive urbanization has wiped out trails and fields and today Hadda has become a chic district of Sana'a, with a little Baroque style, because each owner builds the home of his dreams, his fantasy. These homes are not connected to the city water system, and the depletion of the water table in the capital will probably never allow it.Most of these homes are huge and all are decorated with qamareyas. Embassies, shops and luxury shopping centres have settled there. This is the district of senior officials, military officers and many sheikhs with a residence in Sana'a.
