Only one original fragment remains, the rest being a representation erected in the 1980s and protected against the erosion of time. It was King Agokoli (probably at the beginning of the 17th century) who had it built using clay kneaded with palm nut pulp water. Notsé then became a fortress where the Ewe, but also other peoples such as the Akposso, took refuge from ferocious beasts and attacks from enemies. The visit has little interest in itself, except for the historical explanations of the guide Koko or his nephew.
