In Togossimè, which means "market of Togo" in the local Ewe language, the market has two sectors, a normal trade sector and a barter sector, held every Wednesday in Togoville (mainly in the morning). On the barter side, land products are exchanged for sea products. At the entrance, there is the great fetish, to which men and women bring offerings and submit their wishes for a blessing for the success of their business. During the rest of the week, the market never completely dies, even if it is more timidly animated.
