THE LOME WHARF

As a relic of the colonial era, the Lomé wharf originated in the current port of the capital. First built in wood in 1890 by the Germans, he experienced several reconstructions, the last date of the 1900 s. In 1928, the new jetty built by the French became operational. But the story itself of the port of Lomé begins in 1959. Today, the autonomous port of Togo is one of the most important economic centres in Africa.
