This establishment was originally a hospital (for the poor) founded in 1576. Classical famous in the city.
Founded in 1576 by a Prince-Bishop who gave it his name, the Juliusspital was a hospital, a home for the elderly and an orphanage (an institution for the poor), and thanks to the post-war reconstruction, has been restored to its Renaissance majesty. The Juliusspital is now a classic Gasthof, renowned in the city, serving simple and hearty local cuisine. The terrace in the courtyard of the hospice is very attractive in summer. Franconian food and wine are of the highest quality.
