Passau is also the starting point for Europe's famous cycle route, the Danube Cycle Route, which stretches 326 km from Passau to Vienna. Along the way, you can admire some unique landscapes, including the Danube loop at Schlögen, where the river describes a very tight loop. You'll also pass picturesque towns such as Linz, Steyregg and Grein, as well as the Mitterkirchen open-air museum. The Danube Valley is also famous for its steeply terraced vineyards.
