This museum is dedicated to O. Gulbransson, a Norwegian painter and cartoonist who drew for the satirical newspaper
This museum is dedicated to the life of Olaf Gulbransson (1873-1958), a famous Norwegian painter and caricaturist who drew for Simplicissimus, a Munich satirical journal known for its acid criticism of bourgeois morality in the Wilhelminian era. Born in Christiana (now Oslo), he moved to Munich in 1902 to work for the satirical magazine, retiring to Tegernsee in 1929. The Olaf Gulbransson Museum in Tegernsee presents a selection of his cartoons in facsimile and some of his rare oil paintings.
