Youth hostel with 110 beds, table tennis, sauna, climbing wall, TV and projector, 4 km from town center.
The youth hostel is 4 km from the city centre and is not served by bus lines. Transfer by taxi from the train station is possible. However, it is located in the middle of a protected natural area. 110 beds, divided into rooms of three to eight beds, table tennis room, internal sauna, bike room, climbing room and wall, TV, projector. A hostel designed more for school groups. Membership of the DJH network required.

The worst hostel booking I've ever made!
I requested a booking last week. There was availability at the Hostel. I received an instant confirmation of my booking request. Four of us came to Mittenwald today and 2hrs before my check-in, I received an email stating that there are no rooms available. Absolutely pathetic and unwelcoming.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Rude!!!!! I write this while I'm travelling back to a town far away. My short vacation plans are now spoiled. Thanks to the owner's irresponsible action.

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche mit unserer Klasse in der Jugendherberge Mittenwald. Sehr freundlicher Service vom kompletten Personal, saubere Zimmer und ausgesprochen gute Verpflegung...wir kommen gerne bei einer der nächsten Klassenfahrten wieder!

I wouldn't personally recommend keeping the Mittenwald branch as the first option in your itinerary. I deeply express my disappointment in the management of this situation by the managing team at DJH Jugendherberge, Mittenwald.
