CAHORA BASSA DAM
On the Zambezi River, which cuts Mozambique in two, the Cahora Bassa dam can be visited from the inside. An impressive and grandiose exploration not to be missed. To do so, contact the Public Relations Department in Songo. Initiated by an agreement between South Africa and Portugal in 1969, its construction was completed six years later, in 1975, at independence. It is 171 m high and associated with a hydroelectric power station. With an air of the American Hoover Dam, it is this dam that created the eponymous lake.
