Just a stone's throw from Tunduru Garden, The Base is ideally placed for daytime strolls or evening outings. The hostel has a shared kitchen and a sumptuous rooftop terrace. The atmosphere is quiet, friendly and comfortable, as there is only one dormitory with 6 beds and a few double rooms with private bathrooms. The whole place is clean and air-conditioned, a very good point. The Base organizes transfers to Tofo on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you book a double room, avoid the one in the basement, which feels a bit like a cellar.

Good value for money. Place to meet all kinds of young people. Had fun while staying there. Quite central which is a plus.

The Base Backpackers is a great Place to stay in Maputo. The Prices are low (1000MT per Night/person) if you book at the Place. The Staff is friendly and very helpful in every Situation. The Security is good and you have access at all times. The View from the terrace is Beautiful and the Options for Drinks are reasonable. Right in front you have a gas station where you can find more options. Overall a great Stay, would recommend!
