The estate of the Dupont family - 50 ha in size including 30ha of cider apple orchards - located in Pays d'Auge and renowned for the quality of its terroir products has been operating for four generations. It strives to make traditional and original products so as to offer a wide range of renowned gastronomic cider products: various ciders, calvados and pommeaux. The individual visit of the distillery and of the cellars is followed by a tasting (1 cider, 1 pommeau, 1 calvados). Guided tours for groups of 10 people or more are available all year round by reservation. It offers various options at adapted rates: the short visit lasts approximately 1 hour and includes the distillery and the cellar. It ends at the shop with a tasting. The long visit lasts 1 hour 30 mins with a visit of the orchards, the press, the distillery and the cellars + tasting. The tasting visit is similar to the previous one but with the tasting of cider products together with local cheeses, delis and pastries. These associations are commented by a sommelier. The professional visit, conducted by a manager of the estate, can provide technical details on various topics (for example: harvesting and choice of varieties, brewing and fermentation, distillation and ageing). Please note that these visits can be commented in French or English. Each year, this estate also offers activities (cocktail workshops, initiation to distillation, etc.). I came in without an appointment on a Tuesday afternoon (I work in the hospitality and tasting room in Napa, CA so I knew the possibility of being turned away without an appointment) but I was still able to taste some cider and very old Calvados!
It was lovely to see family run distillery and to try a champagne style cider.
I am so glad I stopped by because they sell personal sized bottles of cider. And I was able to enjoy that together with some local cheese late that evening
Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Always try to call ahead of time still, I might have gotten lucky because I was just a single guest!

At the end of the tour we were offered a tasting by the sommelier. It was really nice and everything was explained well. He offered different types of cider, calvados.
At the end we bought some bottles of our favourite cider. Even with the only French speaking tour we were asked to pay the tour. I was expecting to have some discount for the inconvenience.
1 star rating only for the inconvenience during the tour. Everything else was amazing.
If you're French speaking person I suggest the visit otherwise I don't.
