Petit Futé's opinion on CABO DE SANTA MARIA

It was a Spanish ship that ran aground on the north coast of the island on September1, 1968, a real boon for the locals who appropriated the entire cargo. More than four decades later, this carcass beaten by the waves is one of the main attractions of the island. Indeed, the site offers a striking, almost ghostly sight, knowing that as the years go by, the wreck is deteriorating. It can be reached by a paved road, by 4x4 or on foot. The boat, very Instagrammable, can be spotted from afar and the approach by the beach is superb.
