These red-brick towers, which could hold 90,000 gas, radiate a very special atmosphere.

The adventure of the gasometers dates back to 1899, when engineer Theodor Hermann finished building the four huge towers that could hold 90,000m3 of gas. Disused in 1986, these red-brick towers, which radiate a very special atmosphere, were used as a set by James Bond. They were refurbished in 2001 with the participation of French architect Jean Nouvel (see the sloping glass and metal building facing the gasometers). The former reservoirs are now home to apartments, stores and offices... Not to be missed!
