RA’MIEN

Asian cuisine restaurant
4/5
1 review

Come and cross chopsticks in this large, trendy Asian canteen, which concocts a cuisine combining China, Japan and Vietnam, offered as a buffet and appreciated by a rather young clientele. Uncluttered white and red tones, a wide variety of noodles, large bowls of rice served with chicken, duck, shrimp or vegetables. The classics are there, from pho soup to gyozas. These exotic flavors are washed down with a good Asian beer. Sophisticated dishes are served until 5pm only. In the evening, it's all about Asian tapas.

SHIKI

Japanese restaurant €€€

It's the gourmet version of the Japanese restaurant. In fact, the Shiki has been awarded one star in the Michelin guide. This restaurant welcomes a bourgeois clientele in a refined and very urban design setting. The menu offers high quality sushi and sashimi, but it is much more interesting to taste the prepared dishes which are distinguished by their great delicacy and are prepared with ultra fresh and quality products: Kobe or wagyu beef, caviar, moulting crab? Great art and all the Japanese refinement within reach of chopsticks.

MOCHI

Japanese restaurant

In the beginning, 4 Japanese enthusiasts. Today, several deliciously Japanese addresses. Among them, Mochi, Vienna's trendy Japanese restaurant, opened in 2012 on Praterstraße. With its stylish decor, pleasant terrace and delicious yet affordable dishes (and not just sushi!), Mochi is the place to be. You'll come across a young, bohemian clientele. And Mochi continues to diversify, with 7 addresses including, just across the street, o.m.k (take-out and grocery), 2 addresses in an increasingly trendy2nd district market, including a ramen bar and an Italian-Japanese restaurant.

SHANGHAI TAN

Asian cuisine restaurant

You don't come to Vienna to eat in a Chinese restaurant, but still come and discover the magnificent decor of the Shanghai Tan, worthy of a James Bond movie. A cosy atmosphere, soft red light, lanterns and wooden sculptures. The menu, contrary to what the decoration and the name of the restaurant might suggest, offers Japanese specialties, with sushi, makis, sashimis, and all the same Chinese classics, such as dim sum, fried noodles, gyoza. Choice of vegetarian dishes. To satisfy small and big appetites until the middle of the night.

DER WIENER DEEWAN

Indian restaurant
Open - from 11h00 to 23h00

A favorite! The spirit of trendy Vienna blows through this Pakistani restaurant with curry and concept bar. At the "Viennese Divan", only drinks are fixed-price items. The rest is a buffet of Pakistani dishes, rice, bread and sauces. Everyone pays according to their means and conscience. It's a generous concept, but you'd have to think the house would appreciate it. It lasts! So, you negotiate with your wallet. It's a social enterprise, so be generous. Vintage 1970s decor. Sometimes a storyteller in the evening. Boxes to take away (modest price).

MOCHI RAMEN BAR

Japanese restaurant €€

An offshoot of the Mochi on Praterstrasse. Since 2017, it has been offering ramen, that Japanese soup with fresh noodles in a broth of your choice - dried fish, shellfish, pork, mushrooms... - and a soft-boiled egg marinated in soy sauce. Very comforting and warming in winter! A nice spot in the alleys of the small market that goes up in the second district, a stone's throw from the campus and Messe Wien. We appreciate the relaxed atmosphere which, combined with the Japanese refinement, symbolizes the Viennese way of life. Kanpaï!
