A lovely little beach with blonde sand, wedged between black rocks and cliffs in Snæfellsjökull
The road to Öndverðarnes is now paved. On the way, Skarðsvík is a lovely little beach of golden sand (one of the few in the country) wedged between rocks and black cliffs. With a bit of luck, and if the snow-capped volcano deigns to show itself, the picture becomes fabulous. Öndverðarnes is the westernmost point of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. To the south, the black cliffs of Svörtuloft are an excellent place to watch the raging waves.
