THE ICELANDIC EIDER CENTER
Atypical museum to discover the eider and its famous feathers, located near the Norwegian house
In Iceland, the eider has been a protected species since 1847, and with good reason: the country is the world's leading producer of eiderdown. In this unusual and surprising museum, located next to the Norwegian house, you can learn more about eiderdown from Erla, whose family has been collecting, processing, packaging and exporting eiderdown for several generations. Eiderdown confections are also available for sale in the picturesque museum building.
