A symbol of the city, this Lutheran church by the architect Gudjon Samuelsson, stands majestically on the small hill in the city centre. It was completed in 1940. Inside, you can enjoy a sober style, which contrasts with the beauty of the coloured stained glass windows. On your way out, enjoy the view of the city (from the top of the steps). Afterwards, don't hesitate to visit the free botanical garden nearby, which is really pretty.

Impossible de ne pas voir cette église quand vous arriver à Akureyri et où que vous vous trouviez dans la ville, elle surplombe la ville et vous attire irrésistiblement.

belle eglise qui surplombe la ville (grand nombre de marches pour y arriver !). mais quand la quasi intégralité des passagers d'un bateau de croisière se retrouve dans la petite ville d' akureyri, ce n'est pas l'idéal pour visiter l'église...il y avait embouteillage dans les escaliers !
