REGIONAL MUSEUM (SAFNAHÚSIÐ)
Several museums in one where you can find different documents about the city and its history in Husavik
This three-level museum is a must-see! History of the town, folklore, the sea, biology: various photos, archives, books and documents (and even a bible printed in 1584) give a better understanding of the town and its history. This is also where you can see the largest stuffed polar bear captured in Iceland in 1969 (2.5 metres and 369 kilos). Indeed, bears sometimes land in Iceland on fragments of pack ice that drift ashore.
