Skálanes is a natural site 20 km from the village of Seyðisfjörður, and is a tourist center offering "nature and culture" activities: guided hikes are offered every day in summer. It's also a popular place for teachers and students to study biodiversity. In this 1,250-hectare nature reserve, you can come across reindeer, polar foxes and over 47 species of birds... A beautiful place to feel (almost) alone in the world of Iceland, so don't forget your binoculars!
