Here's a very pretty historic farmhouse owned by the Berunes family, painted red and white and a little out of the way, where you'll enjoy pleasant rooms, a lovely kitchen and dining room. Every summer, their restaurant is also very popular for its cuisine and local beers. Activities include hiking, birdwatching... You can also camp in peace and quiet or sleep in a tiny house. It's the ideal place to stay for a few days to enjoy the region, and boasts a splendid view.

Berunes is ideally located by the sea, between the north and south of Iceland, close to Skaftafell National Park and the Myvatn region.
The hostel is a charming old farmhouse, built at the beginning of the last century, but offers modern facilities and comfortable rooms.
Part of the accommodation is in a newer building with rooms for 1 to 4 people, a kitchen and a living room with fireplace and wonderful views over the Icelandic landscape. Berunes also offers 3 self-catering cottages, each accommodating 2 to 5 people.
In total, we can accommodate up to 45 people. You can bring your own sleeping bag, rent sheets or opt for a made-up bed.
You'll enjoy breakfast and typical Icelandic meals at Gestastofan, our small family-run restaurant next to the hostel. Guests are asked to order their meal/breakfast when booking or on arrival. Wireless Internet access available.
Berunes has been ranked in the top 5 of Authentic World Hostels since 2008, and is also a certified 'green' hostel.

Herzliche Chefin und beeindruckendes Frühstück. Frisch gezapftes Bier kann im Speiseraum bestellt werden.
Highlight waren die dortigen Nordlichter.
Absolute Empfehlung in Island!
Gegen Gebühr kann man auch Waschmaschine und Wäschetrockner nutzen.
