VIKING VILLAGE
Magnificent reconstruction of a Viking village for a film by director Baltasar Kormákur, an address to discover with the family.
If you're visiting Stokksnes beach, don't miss Viking Village, a striking reconstruction of a Viking village built in 2009 for a film that was never made. Erected at the foot of the Vestrahorn from driftwood and salvaged materials, it blends into the spectacular backdrop of rugged mountains, dunes and black sand. This unusual site was even used as the setting for The Witcher: Blood Origin series. Visits are subject to a fee and can be booked at the Viking Café, located at the entrance to the site at the first parking lot.
