Geysir site with impressive geothermal phenomena, with waters rising to a height of a few meters

The Geysir site is a geothermal zone famous for Strokkur, a geyser that spurts out on average every 5 minutes, its blue water rising to a height of 25-30 m. Next door is Geysir, from which the site takes its name, and which is now inactive, although it is exceptionally activated during major earthquakes. A little higher up are the communicating basins of Blesi, the "flame". Stay on the right side of the road! Don't miss the hike to the top of the site.

Le geyser s'active régulièrement et est toujours surprenant. C'est super de le regarder par le haut car on voit vraiment l'eau sortir de sa base et repartir comme aspirée. Attention à ne pas se mettre dans le vent sinon on prend l'eau. L'accès est gratuit

Le site se trouve très éloigné de toute grande ville donc prévoir la journée pour y aller et visiter les autres sites comme Gullfoss et Þingvellir. Sur le site vous y trouverez un restaurant/Cafeteria, Station service et boutique de souvenir. La ballade est rapide mais agréable. L'entrée est gratuite.
