Campground with a great view of the lake or the surrounding mountains, has toilets, showers and picnic tables

With the exception of a grassy area next to the Information Center, which is open to campers all year round, the other sites near the lake (Vatnskot) or close to the center (Leirar) are closed in the off-season. You'll love the wilderness setting and the stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Facilities include toilets, showers and picnic tables. Payment is at the Information Center. If you arrive too late in the evening, you can pay for your stay with the ranger the following day.

La zone de camping au bord du lac est magnifique. On a l'impression de camper en pleine nature.

Campé ici pendant nos vacances islandaises (deux fois). Une très belle façon de camper et de partir dans votre aventure du Cercle d'Or. Zone de camping massive à l'intérieur du parc national. Nous avons opté pour la zone plus petite en face du centre des visiteurs du parc national. Des zones pour tous les styles de camping, des tentes aux plus grands camping-cars. Les installations de la salle de bain étaient agréables, tout comme les douches. Ils ont des conteneurs à ordures pour le recyclage et une station de vidange ainsi que des sites avec électricité si vous le souhaitez. Très calme
Si vous arrivez ici tard, installez simplement votre camp. Les Rangers passeront le matin et placeront une étiquette sur votre pare-brise pour vous rappeler de vous arrêter et de payer le matin. La randonnée ici était super. N'oubliez pas de visiter Oxarafoss ! Endroit magnifique.
