A very nice little guesthouse in a charming red house in the heart of the village. It has 7 bedrooms, shared bathrooms and a kitchen as well as a small well-kept garden for picnics. 5 minutes from the Blue Lagoon and at a reasonable price.

Me and my wife were bitten by bed bugs in this place! It's not particularly clean in general, so it's not that surprising. It has a cheap hostel kind of feel to the place, except that it is actually very expensive to stay here. We paid for the breakfast and it was quite disgusting, especially considering how much it cost. Some of the food looked like it hadn't been cooked properly, so we didn't finish it. I wouldn't stay again, there are other places in the area that are much better.

Our first night in Iceland was here at Grindavik Guesthouse and it set such a high standard. Dagmar and Hjalti were very welcoming & great with any questions we had. We stayed with our two children and the family room was just what we needed. They loved the games in the sitting room & the extensive breakfast options! We also enjoyed the local pool which has nice facilities. Would stay again!

We have spent 2 fantastic nights at Grindavik Guesthouse, the first and the last of our amazing journey around Iceland! We couldn't ask for a better place! Dagmar, who speaks very fluently italian, has welcomed us as old friends and so we have left, as friends!
The guesthouse is close to the airport (20 min), to the Blue Lagoon (10 min) and to Grindavik Volcano. Rooms are spacious, there is a beautiful common area and we have loved the abundant breakfast included that you can enjoy in the common kitchen! Congrats guys for the passion you put in what you do. we can't wait to come back there to you. Well done

I am a geologist that was working nearby in the lava fields. I booked a room here at the last minute and then cancelled a day later because my child became ill and I had to return home. I asked for a partial refund and the owner sent me a series of rude emails. She even tried to gaslight the situation by saying that I was being threatening, when all I did was ask her to be nice. Do yourself a favor and avoid these nutters.

It s a great solution for a short stay. The location is very convenient for quick access to the blue lagoon. The communication was quick and easy. The room was a bit small but still enough for our needs. The shared living area was beautiful and comfortable. We did not use the kitchen facilities but it seemed to have all you need. Great coffe machine and possibility to make your own cappuccino (very rare in Iceland!). Bathrooms, room and common areas were very clean. Generous breakfast, you just get what you want, when you want, from the fridge and the food corner :) Only downside.. it gets a bit busy and crowded when all the rooms are occupied, but it is a common issue in Iceland during high season
