Hotel offering rooms with private bathroom, radio, satellite TV and telephone
From the outside, this hotel doesn't look like much, but it is! The Hotel Leifur Eiriksson faces one of the capital's most popular landmarks: the spectacular Hallgrímskirkja church. It is housed in an old house with 47 en-suite rooms, radio, satellite TV and telephone, refurbished in 1993. In addition to its central location, you'll appreciate the personalization of the rooms, with designer paintings and colorful bed linen to match the hues of the different room types, and the warm welcome provided by the staff.

Wouldn’t really recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room wasn’t even at the main hotel building, they have an old building beside the main hotel where the rooms are extremely small and noisy.
The worst part is definitely the bathroom which was the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen, doesn’t even have a proper shower or sink.

The hotel clearly invests in maintaining the property — construction workers were there for some routine maintenance during our stay. Our room was very comfortable and cozy during the middle of a snow storm with gale force winds. You could barely hear the wind inside and there were no drafts from the windows, skylights, or the balcony door.
No elevator, so you burn a few additional calories by taking the stairs :) Eat all the pastries you want! And drink all the beer!
Bonus: It’s VERY EASY to find your way back home. Just walk up any hill towards Hallgrimskirkja and the hotel is across the street.
